    Here are the highlights of Italy’s three major trade shows held annually and bi-annually:

    MIPAP is one of the largest international exhibitions of designer clothes for women in Italy. This event usually takes place in late February and lasts for three days.     The exhibition consists of two main sections focused on appropriate clothing styles:

    – Stream – new trends of the season in casual clothing for the modern women;
    – Iconic – classic style clothing for elegant business women.


    MICAM Shoevent is the most important event in fashion footwear industry where buyers can check out the latest collections of famous Italian and foreign manufacturers of footwear.

    The show was founded in 1969 and is held twice a year, in March and September in Milan’s famous exhibition venue – Fieramilano-Rho.

    MICAM occupies an exhibition area of 70 000 square meters and serves a showcase for the world’s 1,600 companies 1,000 of which are Italian while remaining 600 companies represent 30 countries. The MICAM gathers shoe producers and buyers, distributors, store owners, representatives of wholesale and retail trade, representatives of purchasing firms, import and export companies, as well as professionals of the fashion industry.

    Having about 40,000 visitors a year exhibition MICAM copes with its key objective – contribution to the establishment of direct business contacts between producers and buyers.

    For four decades the city of Florence hosts one of the most significant exhibitions of fashion menswear called Pitti Immagine Uomo. Twice a year – in winter and summer – here you can familiarize with the latest collections of leading fashion maisons from all over the world. Its aim is to familiarize fashion industry professionals with cutting-adge trends and innovations in men’s fashion. Among them are designers, fashion designers, manufacturers and business representatives from Italy, Spain, Germany, UK, Japan, Russia and other countries.

    The exhibition is visited by 30,000 visitors each season. The first exhibition was organized by Pitti Immagine 12 February 1951. This date is commemorated as the birthday of Italian high fashion.
