In January, 2017 Pitti Immagine Uomo will be held for the 91st time. Here are the headlines of the new fair season.
According to Raffaello Napoleone, Pitti Immagine CEO, the uproming trade show will host over 1,220 exhibitors, with about 40% of total to be international players and nearly 200 of newcomers.
Apart from it, the new Pitti Uomo edition will debut with some new sections like HI Beauty dedicated to the world of fragrances and personal care – another one microcosm of men’s image and style.
About 25,000 buyers are expected to visit the show including many from Germany, Japan and the USA, and representing mainly the premium market segment.
Pitti Uomo is increasingly positioned as a competent international fashion platform, alongside the Fashion Week, Napoleone notices. The border between them is getting more and more subtle due to the introduction of innovative presentation and communication formats, and the 91st edition is one more evolutionary step for the fair.
The show will traditionally feature a wide range of events and special initiatives: from the return of the Z Zegna label, by one of Italian fashion’s most renowned groups worldwide, which has chosen Pitti Uomo for the official preview of the collection designed by new Creative Director Alessandro Sartori; to Tommy Hilfiger, the iconic US brand that takes part in Pitti Uomo for the first time, with a selection of its autumn 2017 men’s collections. Meanwhile, British designer Paul Smith will be the event section’s special guest at Florence’s Fortezza to introduce his decocratic contemporary line, PS by Paul Smith.
Besides, Pitti Uomo 91 will present many joint projects like collaboration of luxury men’s label Larusmiani and Aldo Lorenzi, a historic Milanese producer of cutlery and men’s accessories, or the Roy Roger’s + Liverano & Liverano capsule jeans collection. Meantime, the iconic denim brand Wrangler will celebrate its 70th anniversary by unveiling a unique collaboration with a famous international artist and designer.
Fausto Puglisi, one of the latest edition special guests, will showcase his footwear line for men in January. Moreover, Les Petits Joueurs launches its first men’s collection with an exclusive premiere at Pitti Uomo: the recognizable begs with pixel decocaration of the Florentine label has had a great success among female audience.
LVMH Prize finalist Tim Coppens, Italian Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, and London based menswear label Cottweiler, presenting a capsule collection in collaboration with Reebok, will also participate in the upcoming edition.
